Sail/Voile NB Policies
Sail/Voile NB is the provincial governing body for boating and the sport of sailing in the province and is Sail Canada’s representative in New Brunswick. Sail/Voile NB is a non-profit volunteer association with a mission to provide leadership, coordination and training to meet the needs of all New Brunswick boaters.
The purpose and objectives of the Association are:
1) To encourage the development and growth of sailing in the Province of New
Brunswick, both cruising and racing, for all New Brusnwickers;
2) To advance the common interests of yacht clubs, racing associations, sailing schools and other sailing organizations operating within the Province of New Brunswick, to work cooperatively with such organizations, and to promote, when appropriate, the goals and
interests of those organizations on the regional, national and international stage;
SAIL NB / VOILE NB strives to reduce and eliminate nearly all instances of conflict of interest at SAIL NB / VOILE NB – by being aware, prudent, and forthcoming about the potential conflicts. This Policy describes how Representatives will conduct themselves in matters relating to conflict of interest and clarifies how Representatives shall make decisions in situations where conflict of interest may exist.
Sail / Voile NB, in partnership with Sail Canada and Sport NB, is committed to providing everyone involved in the sport of sailing across New Brunswick a safe and welcoming environment in which to participate. As we work towards ensuring as positive, safe, and inclusive environment, Sail Canada has created a harmonious policy package to set the expectations for safe sport across the country which Sail / Voile NB has adopted.
The official languages of Sail / Voile NB are English and French.
Members are free to express themselves in the language of their choice.
This policy describes the way in which SAIL/VOILE NB collects, uses, retains, safeguards, discloses, and disposes of the personal information of prospective members, members, and others including athletes, coaches, referees, and volunteers. This policy describes the way in which SAIL/VOILE NB will, subject to applicable legal requirements, adhere to the relevant federal and provincial (New Brunswick) legislative privacy requirements.
