SAIL/VOILE NB MEMBER SCHOOLS
SAIL CANADA TRAINED INSTRUCTORS AND COACHES - Courses meet Sail Canada standards emphasizing safety, theory, boat handling and sportsmanship and are taught by Sail Canada qualified instructors who are in attendance at all times, both on land and on the water.
Greater Shediac Sailing School
The Greater Shediac Sailing School (formerly the SBYCSS) offers beginner, intermediate and advanced sailing lessons to students from 8-18 years of age. Students will learn to sail in a safe, fun environment on beautiful Shediac Bay. The school runs from 9:30AM to 4:30PM Monday to Friday, and sessions run in two-week blocks. Our fleet consists of 420s, optis, and lasers, and we follow the CanSail national dinghy program. Our instructors are accredited by Sail Canada. Students who own their own boats are encouraged to bring them.

Sail Shediac
Jeff and Christian are professional sailing instructors certified by Sail Canada. They have become well-known and respected throughout the greater Shediac area as master laser sailors. After training with some of the greatest athletes in Canada, they have developed unique and effective teaching methods and want to share their love of sailing with you.
Royal Kennebecasis Yacht Club Learn to Sail
For more than 100 years, one of the key mandates of the RKYC has been to promote the sport of sailing. One of the more important ways we do this is through our Learn to Sail Programs. We have several learn to sail programs that are targeted at different age groups including: CANSail Wet Feet - fun, introductory sailing program for children (ages 6 to 8), Junior Sailing (ages 7 to 17) and our Adult Learn to Sail program (ages 17 and up).

Learn to Sail
RYC’s Learn to Sail program for Youth and Adult offers a fun, safe, and hands-on introduction to sailing on the beautiful Kennebecasis River. Using CANSail’s progressive standards, our certified instructors teach practical skills, sailing theory, and boat handling—all through games, drills, and on-water activities.
Our program is designed for everyone, from first-time sailors to advanced racers. We emphasize confidence, teamwork, and physical activity, ensuring every participant has an engaging and unforgettable summer. Whether racing or exploring, sailors develop strong skills while having fun—and leave with a lifelong love of the sport.
